Re: TC to KC BBQ Run IV Sept 23-25
THANKS FOR ANOTHER EXCELLENT EVENT, Eddie! :D Great turnout and great folks again this year! Fantastic BBQ and even some musical entertainment for the evening. Enjoyed riding the roads and creek crossings in the area as well as the trails on your ranch---they were in great shape! Thanks for all the ...

Re: Anyone riding dirt this weekend?
Looks like you had adventure, Creekside! While attended the TC to KC BBQ Run & Camp this past Saturday, I led 3 other riders on a 60 or 70 mile dualsport SE of Blue Mound, KS that included several creek and low-water crossings. It is a route Eddie took me on many years ago, so I pulled it out of the...

Re: 3 Day AR Ride & Camp
Sunday | Day 3 | All good things must come to an end... We stayed dry through the night, but as we were waking to very overcast skies we could hear the thunder not so far away. The race was on! We sprung out of our tents and started packing them up as quick as we could. It takes as long to get the ...

Re: 3 Day AR Ride & Camp
By morning, the rain had stopped and we enjoyed coffee and eggs. The bee hive is in the seat cushion directly below Sean's helmet. http://i.imgur.com/CLbxhU7.jpg http://i.imgur.com/Xk9oO8Q.jpg http://i.imgur.com/fJ5xAF2.jpg Then Sean got stung on his neck by a bee! Turns out the 3rd chair in on the ...

Re: 3 Day AR Ride & Camp
Friday Morning -- the ADV begins! Sean & I woke to a beautiful morning. We were rolling on the bikes just before 9 am, so not an early start, but according to our lazy plan. It did not take long to get out of the Harrison "metropolis" and onto fine forest roads like this in the Buffalo River Nation...

3 Day AR Ride & Camp
My good friend, Sean, is MoRidin here on the forum. He really needed to get a good ride in. He did most of the logistics and developed a 3 day adventure loop out of Harrison, AR. Now when I say he developed it, really he put pieces together from tracks others have posted, so THANK YOU to the communi...

Kendall, when do you start working for them as a mountain bike & dualsport guide? You'd be great at it if you weren't such an a-hole. Wait, that's me. You'd be great!

Re: New Eureka Springs, AR Dual-Sport & Mountain Bike Guide Service
I knew the guy who ran the dualsport adventure store in ES wanted to sell and move to Jasper. I see he did sell and opened the same business in Jasper: http://www.arkansasadventurerider.com/ Did the West boys buy the old ES location? The address on their Facebook page appears to be their home outsid...

Re: Ingenious Touchscreen Mod for your motorcycle gloves
First in the series of Official RideForum.NET Pro Tips" series of videos. Not. I've heard the thread thing works, too. Sean's setup was a $50 Kyocera Hydro waterproof android running OSMand (free, open-source) and free maps & POI (street & topo). It worked fantastic and provides a lot more fun...

Re: Ingenious Touchscreen Mod for your motorcycle gloves
Sean purposely cut off the index finger of both gloves because he uses both hands. Also, the 2 fingers allowed him to pinch and zoom. Of course the video is in jest anyway. Your idea to cut off the tips of the other gloves is a good one. It's basically what these are: http://www.aerostich.com/clothi...

Ingenious Touchscreen Mod for your motorcycle gloves
While riding in the St. Francis forest this past weekend, Sean was testing out his new Android phone setup on his bars. It was a huge success! We'll post up more details on that in another thread. Sean brought along some thin, touchscreen-compatible gloves, but once they were soaked, he switched to ...

Re: Walter's ranch
Thank you for not inviting me. :D Actually, I DID invite you, but with your big event this coming weekend, you had too much stuff going on. You would have been fine and you would have loved it. My favorite part was camping in a flash flood with 10,000 spiders and, as it turned out, a wild bee hive ...

Re: Walter's ranch
That does not look like you took the proper line. You think? Actually, I think I was on the correct line, but I did not commit. It was of course WAY steeper than it looks in the photo. In the photo it looks like you could take any line--even running up the rut, but trust me that would not wor...
