Daryl, lets go to Milford on Sunday. Perry will work if we are short on time, but the riding at Milford is superior and many times the place is not even crowded.

I'll go ride the following wknd with Kyle, too, unless he wants to do this Sunday.

Thanks for the feedback regarding this dealer, Tye. I think it is appropriate and helpful for the community. Dealers need to understand that when you treat one customer bad, that one customer probably has a dozen friends who are potential customers. We should all carefully consider our words and mot...

Your welcome, Tye. By the way, the second book I sent to Tye was " Motorcycle Meditations: A Vision Quest to Alaska ". It's an easy and excellent read that my brother Kyle gave me. http://ec1.images-amazon.com/images/G/01/ciu/07/25/14f9793509a0c380316f0110._AA240_.L.jpg It's full of little snippets ...

Thanks to both of you for the Wholesales Batteries recommendation. They will have my battery ready by noon today. About $55 compared with $85 at NAPA and about $90 at the motorcycle dealer. I'm going to get the new battery because I don't want to mess around and end with an unrideable machine this w...

Thanks, the routes worked out fine once I separated into two routes. Hope to limp the Etrex Legend through another year until I can pick up a color unit. Isn't it great having a forum like this to get some help. Kudos to Troy for keeping this group going. Thanks, Mac! You are definitely part of the...

I ruined my battery

My battery was working great. I had not had any issues whatsoever. Instead of heeding the wisdom of "if it aint broke don't fix it", I thought I'd do some "winter maintenance". I pulled the battery and pulled the caps. I could not see any liquid, so I assumed the battery was a little low. In the pas...

Thanks for sharing, Luc. I echo what Mike said---BEAUTIFUL country you are in. I also love the building in the town--the old stone and wood. Here in the US, if we see a "really old" barn, it may be 150 years old. There, it may be hundreds of years old---and still being used. So Luc, buy 20 small, ea...

JaySoy, glad your mods went well and the KLR is running and ready. 8) How was your ride, Carl? Mine ride was not much of a ride. First, since nobody told me they would be meeting me, I opted (as I said I would) to skip the meeting place and time. The computer updates I needed to do in the morning co...

I plan to stick to the KCCC. I included a lot of caches "along the route" just in case we hit an area and decide to find an extra cache or 2. Anybody who does plan to meet me, you need to post here by 10AM Sunday or CALL me after that. If I'm not expecting anyone, I may skip the meeting time and pla...

Ajayhawkfan, if I had your bike, I'd love to ride down to Cassoday tomorrow with you, and I'd do mostly gravel all the way...it's a blast. BUT...if you opt to stick it out in the big city tomorrow, let's go geocaching. You've found ALL of these caches before, right? You have interest to find them ag...

Guys, I still have high hopes that I won't run into technical problems at the office Sun morning so I'll be able to ride Sun afternoon. Weather still looks decent: 45 and sunny. I've decided I'm going to do a geocache hunt ride. Anybody who wants to come along is welcome, but I know it's not for eve...

I would love to do as much gravel as possible also Troy. My new back tire needs to be broken in on gravel. It's already had its fair share of pavement. Sounds good, tp. We'll just see what people want to do. Maybe we'll have two or 3 rides for people to choose by Sun. Everyone should definitely rid...

The gravel roads between Orrick and Richmond are good. Rusty (motorcyclecloseouts.com) led a gravel ride from Liberty to Richmond that included some good roads in that area. It was a rather long day, though, and since we are starting after 1PM, that's why I kept my route under 50 miles. Having led o...

But doesn't that add 2.31oz to the KLR? How does it handle in sand with that extra weight?! :?:

Anybody else expect to ride without heated grips, jacket, etc.? I don't want to slow anybody up by trying to warm up every now and then. FYI: Heated grips are cheap to buy and easy to install. I paid about $26 at Letko cycle for my heated grip kit and spent about 1 hour installing it...and that was...

Here is a route we could do if you want. It starts on the Liberty Square and runs East and a little South to Missouri City then mostly North and a little East and works up to Excelsior Springs. The ride makes a scenic loop into downtown then there is a fast, curvy run back to Liberty on the excellen...

Troy, a guy at work was asking me about your jet skis today, he has a friend that lives down at lake of the ozarks. Troy, I believe you said you got the RAM mount. Have you found the belt clip button to be sufficient to hold it in the cradle? It seems to pop in fairly snug, just wondering if anyone uses any extra precautions to hold it in place. Thanks, Dean :?: I find it to be VERY secure. When people say they ...
