Troy, just wanted to say Thanks for putting the Plattsburg route together. I think I had a dozen guys following me after the Holt deal. I was a little nervous leading and made a couple mistakes but recovered. Nobody complained about being bored. :) Thanks to you and Mike for answering my gps questi...

I vote for the Dunlop D606. Yes it is a knobby, but the knobs are hard and large--it wears long. On my KLR650, I had stock dualsport tires "50/50". I found they were hard to ride dirt or even gravel road corners. When I put the D606 knobbies on, I noticed a huge improvement off-pavement, and not a b...

Guys, I won't be out riding this weekend (UNFORTUNATELY), but rumor is there is a trials even up in Excelsior Springs this Sunday. That would make a really fun dualsport ride, enjoy watching the trials, then ride home. Starts about 11AM, admission is free. Location details are on this website. http:...

When you need to order handlebars, figuring out what size and type seems to be a magical art form to me! I would agree that the fit of the bar when standing is more important than the sitting fit. For my DR350SE, I've ordered a new handlebar, riser adapters, and a swanky replacement top clamp that h...

KC has broken that part twice on his KLR! Ask him about the time his KLR basically fell over in soft dirt at Milford and his rear brake lever broke off! That part is definitely a vulnerability on the KLR650. Dual-Star makes an upgraded brake bracket. You want it. http://www.dual-star.com/index2/Bran...

Thanks for the tips and instructions, Safiri! He points out something most people either have forgotten or never realized. Most ISP's include "web space" for you to create a personal website. I'm going to say some things now that are redundant to what Safiri said, but hopefully between the 2 of us, ...

Short version: Go setup a http://www.smugmug.com account. LONG version: First, some background on the subject.... The reason I don't simply add the ability to upload photos is because, first of all, it's not simple. This forum use the popular, free phpBB software. You'd think by now somebody would h...

This is one of those things where everybody says, "somebody should do something about this--check into what can be done"....but then nobody ever does. So I'm glad you are bringing this up and taking action. Personally, off the top of my head, I'm not familiar enough with the exact location of these ...

R.L. Lemke's Fall Color Tour http://www.ozarkdualsport.com/ You'll hear some people say that he doesn't do it anymore. Not true. He now puts the event on with a lot less fanfare. He basically is trying to keep it from appearing as a big, organized event in order to prevent the National Forest Servic...

Dave, I really liked having you along last year. No doubt we got into some gnarly stuff. I don't know that we technically did any singletrack, but we did do some ATV trails that had not been touched in what seemed months or even years in a few cases. The ride is mostly ATV trails---RUGGED ATV trails...

At first glance, I love that BMW Xchallenge! You mention 6 speed tranny, but specs show gears 1 - 5 and then gear 6 is "N/A". You can get it with the BMW ABS brake system. That would be interesting on a "dirt" bike. Not so fun when you want to power-slide. ABS is not standard, though. It seems like ...

Thanks! Actually, only up to 97. It was 100, but 3 of those were spam accounts that I just deleted. We get about 4 spam accounts per week and I delete them off as I see them. They create a user account simply for the link in their member profile. I don't understand why...how that can possibly be eff...
