Thanks all! Mike, thanks for posting the photo link. I'll get some more pics up there I'm sure. You guys are great. I'm blessed to be part of such a great community of riders. I'm even more blessed to have my little Rachel! Hayden, actually, if we were having a boy, I was pushing for a middle name o...

Argh! I'm missing some great rides and some great weather! (But, my new little girl is worth it.) We have a lot of "new" members and so I'm sure not every one knows David H. If you can be at the Lawrence Burger King in the morning to meet David for this ride, I highly recommend it! David knows these...

Riding 470 miles in 2 days including gravel in addition to the time it takes to locate 12 geocaches....those are 2 long days. 8)

Sounds great! Wish I could have been along for the ride.....on a bigger bike than my 350 of course.

2008 KLR650

Many of you have heard about this, but the KLR650 that went basically unchanged for 20 years has finally been revamped. One article I read argued that not much had really changed other than fairings, but this article seems to think the changes are widespread and a big improvement. I put a lot of mil...

That sucks, Jim. I know some of our members ride Chadwick, MO as well as various off-road venues in the area. We need to remember to keep our eyes open.

Make sure you post this on AdvRider as well. They have such an enormous community, it will increase the odds of finding the bastard(s).

Re: Photo Bucket

I have yet to encounter a problem with my Photo Bucket account...and it's free! http://photobucket.com There are lots of good systems. Photobucket is a nice one. I know Yahoo Photos is popular and free, but I don't like the relatively small photo size limits and their systems are usually slow when ...

Re: Picasa Web Album

Do you think it would work to have a listing of url's to everyones album? Nice photos, Larry. Good Picasa name, too (rideklr) Having a way for members to post a link to their photo album system is a good idea. For now, why not simply use the "Website" feature of your profile. Click "Profile" in the...

Troy is going to be a daddy!

My daughter Rachel is almost here! Due date is May 18. I'm sure I'll eventually get around to posting here with details, but if you want to be notified when Rachel is born, just add your email address to Rachel's Arrival List at http://www.troywolf.com. I appreciate all of you who've offered wisdom ...

FYI: New members

The forum now requires admin account activation for new members before posting is allowed. I hated to do this because I like the easy, open nature of the site. Unfortunately, every day there are multiple spammer accounts created. Even though I required account activation via a user email, spammers w...

I just finished reading "Lois on the loose" by Lois Pryce. She is a British woman who quit her job with the BBC and shipped her Yamaha XT225 Serow to Alaska and rode it to the southern tip of South America. It was a good read. http://www.loisontheloose.com/book.html That looks like a good one! http...

Safiri, regarding the PVC trick...I heard somebody say they got the size pipe just large enough to fit over the tube. They cut 1 to 2 inch slots down from one end of the PVC pipe all the way around. Then they used a hose clamp on the sliced end. If you can picture what I'm describing, then you'll un...

I've heard there is a guy who has a series of videos that show you how to do mechanic work on your KTM. Probably makes some money off it. A topic dedicated to bike maintenance and troubleshooting is probably a good idea. It's a balancing act keeping the forums organized topically and yet not have 10...

In April 1992 a young man from a well-to-do family hitchhiked to Alaska and walked into the wilderness north of Mr, Mckinley. His name was Christopher McCandless. He had given $25,000 in savings to charity, abandoned his car and most of his possessions burned the cash in his walled, and invented a ...

I say we start a movement to ban jacket liners. The facts are plain--jacket liners kill people.

Thanks for sharing this story, JaySoy, and I hope we can all learn from this. If just one rider (or jacket liner) is spared, it's been worth it.

I will probably figure it out when I start using Picasa but...will I still need to "Map a Network Drive" and so forth in Windows to smoothe the uploading process? Nope. In true Google fashion, they take all the technical hurdles out of the process. Once you start using Picasa Web Albums (or any oth...

I have discovered what I think is the best online photo album system currently available. I'm calling this best because not only is the online album clean, fast, and high quality with excellent features such as a slideshow viewer, but the offline component is the slickest photo organizer tool I've e...
