Joe, that is sweet! Something is wrong with that photo, though. I KNOW you are putting some hard-core knobbies on it!
I hope I'm not behind you when you roost that beast.

Well, in the latest newsletter from the roadlesstraveled team, they tell me they are no longer trying to turn their story into a movie, but rather they will be shopping the network to make a TV series out of their epic journey. They feel this will allow them to better tell the story, and I agree. ht...

Re: sorry i missed this one
I guess with rain, Im reaaaallllly sorry i missed this one. sounds like you all could have used some mud riding lessons from the ol'xr! hey carlf, that fork brace would have saved your hide. carry speed in the mud and the fork brace keeps your front tire clean, slices it off like a knife! ask t-roy...

Spotted 3 guys on KLR's this weekend in Hutch and then another guy about 30 min later. WTH are all the DS around here? You'll see a ton of KLR650's around the Wichita area (40 minutes SE of Hutch). So not surprising you saw 4 KLRs down there. One of the main reasons for the KLR's popularity in the ...

I've been home from the ride now for a few hours, but the boys that went up to White Cloud are surely still out on the trail somewhere! Can't wait to hear the reports! 139 miles today for me, and it was a really good day to ride. My day started when Kevin arrived at my house at 8:30. We rode the sho...

I'd just like to add--for those of you who don't know safiri--that his advice is probably worth listening to. This guy organized and led a 7 day camp from the bike Colorado Rockies ride last year....and all three riders survived. Read the epic here: http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=15...

Yeah, but all your doing is riding up to Atchison, then riding home. I think if you don't ride the whole route from Lawrence your a sissy-girl. Dude has a point. I'm so busted. I'll wear a dress on the ride. If it is raining, the roads north of Atchison will be almost impassable due to mud. (Severa...

With my tubed tires, I carry a 21" tube. It fits the front tire and can be used in the back tire in an emergency. (Whereas the 18" tube would be very difficult to fit in the front tire.) On longer rides, I carry both tubes. Of course, a set of small tire irons. For air, I carry a small hand pump tha...

Trail Tools
I'd like to invest in some high-quality, compact tools to carry on the trail. Before I make my purchases, what do you guys know about some of these options?. Allow me to tap into the collective wisdom! I'd like to get enough tools to at least replace the crappy Suzuki stock toolkit. If I'm lucky, I ...

...and for a more constructive reply.... :) Some people do wear a bandana, although most people I have ridden with do not. Spacing out is the thing to do, imo. As long as everybody waits for the rider behind when making turns, it's fine for a group of 10 riders or more to be spaced out over 2 miles ...

First, I found handguards I'm very happy with. The new "Evolution" from Enduro Engineering--I talk about it here: http://www.rideforum.net/viewtopic.php?t=308 Instead of the expensive F.I.T. system (see previous post above), I opted for a rather inexpensive Fat bar and some fat bar adapters. This so...

Enduro Engineering handguards
I just installed the new "Evolution" handguards from Enduro Engineering. I like them a lot. They are seriously heavy-duty, and installed nicely. They also have enough room that both my levers clear without cutting the balls off the ends. I had the previous model from EE on my DR350. They worked, but...

That's the funny part...I don't remember exactly. That's why I was hoping one of you would tell me! I'm pretty sure the spot is in the center of this map: http://maps.yahoo.com/#mvt=s&q1=Xenia%2C+KS&trf=0&lon=-95.041469&lat=38.021041&mag=2 Find Xenia, KS, then go about 3 miles West and 1 mile ...

Troy, If a guy figures out to load the whole route in marengo, how do you save it and make a link to it. Flashstrommer doesn't have a gps, so if he can see the whole thing he can trace it in highlighter on his topo maps. I don't know if I'll ride or not, new kilimanjaro air on the way but I don't k...
