Re: Re:
Some body rode a KLR last year? Man, I bet that was rough.......... You man-handled that KLR, though. You definitely handled your KLR through the Mill Creek ATV Trail system better than I did on my KLR. The XR650R will be a little better, eh? 8) You could probably get along just fine with the 450R....

Re: Labor day ride......
I down loaded the KDOT maps for my area. There is a lot of dirt east of Ottawa (Franklin). Has anybody explored it? I'm thinking of heading north and trying it out. Whoa! You aren't kidding. Why haven't I noticed all that minimum maintenance stuff, curvy roads, and rivers in that area before?! FYI,...

Re: Western Kansas Over Labor Day Weekend
A lot of us have hinted about making an Arackaree Breaks trip, but you did it, Big O! You logged a lot of dirt miles for one weekend--good stuff. Thanks for sharing!

Re: Labor day ride......
Kchusky, I don't know where you live, or we would have stopped by. Normally, we would have posted up to invite some riders along, but honestly, neither of us was up for a long ride and we really did not have high expectations for the area. It surprised us with some treats. :D Before you head out on ...

Re: Labor day ride......
So I figured out how to highlight a little section of road and create a link to a Google Map showing it. This link should highlight a small section of road on a Google Map. The top of the route is a really rugged min maintenance road. The bottom is a dead end, min maintenance road that ends at a coo...

Went to Atchison, KS and then along a dirt road that followed the river to St. Joe. From St. Joe NE to Albany and then home...(A lot like the river road.) I believe that road is still the "River Road" running from Leavenworth to the SW side of St. Joe. I looked at your photos--good stuff! I've neve...

Re: Labor day ride......
Kchusky, where is the Warrensburg scramble area, and is it a legal place to go ride? Harvey (and others), did you make it to Carbondale? I had Carbondale as an option, but Safiri & I did a gravel exploration route South of the KC Metro. Wow did we stumble onto a few minimum maintenance road gems! :D...

Re: Ride Sunday – "KS Dakar" – 8-26-07
When I lived in Wichita, a couple times something similar happened to me with UPS and I was able to drive down to the depot in the evening and personally pick up the item. If you are desperate, that may be an option.

Yea, the joke was on David. We made him backtrack a couple of times - he got two flats! So David was so paranoid people would find out he was behind the nails that he even gave himself 2 flats?! Wow. That guy is committed...or should be. Did we mention we ran into Troy's old flame at the Wath...

Oh no....you didn't let David H lead again did you?! It's the oldest trick in the book, and David is the master. He likes to "lead" so he can sprinkle nails off the back of his bike just to watch you guys change tires. I bet he acted all innocent didn't he! He's an evil bastard!

Re: Ride Sunday – "KS Dakar" – 8-26-07
Wow. This route is cursed. I rode it once with Katbeanz and his buddy Larry, and it was a blast. I've tried to do it twice since, and got beat down by mud both times. David H mentioned he's tried it many times to have it cut short. The last time I tried it, Wathena was as far North as we made it--an...
