Re: Sep 28-30th Arkansas Ozarks Trail Ride

That look like you all had a ball. I know I missed a good time. You definitely missed a good time, but it looks like you had a good time, too. If you have not geocached the Ozark National Forest, there are some real gems there. Some of those forest roads are very rugged, but nothing you can't handl...

Re: Sep 28-30th Arkansas Ozarks Trail Ride

The rides were Fantastic. The routes were great and the weather great(maybe a little warm, but I'm not complaining). It was great to meet the group, hang out and ride together. The weekend was exactly what I had in mind. Thanks to Troy for the routes, leading the rides and being the ride photograph...

Re: Sep 28-30th Arkansas Ozarks Trail Ride

FANTASTIC! The ride was a wonderful success! I got 3 great days of trails in, and loved every minute of it! I'll be adding more photos, perhaps some video, and a lot more details in the days to come, but for now, here is a tease. Others will be sharing their photos and stories soon, I hope. Click f...

Re: Off-Road Enthusiasts housing development?

We used to get on the trail around by the tennis courts and there used to be quite a few really nice luxury cars parked in the parking lot. Much to our dismay, there would be guys with 3 piece suits coming out of the trees with leaves and grass on them. One of my buddies decided to find out what th...

Re: Sep 28-30th Arkansas Ozarks Trail Ride

So I'm at work sitting in my office.....truck is mostly loaded....only 10 hours before I hit the road. WOOHOO! For those of you wanting to do the hard-core trails, I love the FUNRUN so much that I wanted to do it day one. BUT, it makes more sense to hit the Mill Creek trails on Friday because we'll ...

Re: Sep 28-30th Arkansas Ozarks Trail Ride

Man I am jealous! I have previous plans this time but count me in next time! You guys going again in the Spring? The "tradition" (started 2006) is to do the trip every spring and fall. Spring is usually April Fool's weekend. Fall is traditionally the weekend after the Mulberry Mountain Music Festiv...

Re: Get together Sunday (9/30)?

Shhhh...a secret....R.L. has been "not organizing the FCT" for 3 years now. It's really the same thing it has always been except now it "is not an organized ride". This is due to the Natl Forest restrictions on organized rides with more than 75 (or so?) riders. If your group is larger than that, and...

Re: Yamaha expands its dualsport line

I gues BMW have had ABS and Fuel injection for years so I guess they's not too much to be concerned about. On the surface, I had the same concerns, but as you pointed out, fuel-injected systems have proven durable and reliable. They've been putting fuel injected systems on quads with great success ...

Re: Get together Sunday (9/30)?

I kinda figured the real Fall Colors Tour would be too big. I don't know ya real well, J, but from what you've told me, I gather you like to make your own way. Not really "do whatever the crowd is doing" kind of guys. Hell yeah. Do your own thing, go your own pace. I did the FCT one year, and it wa...

Re: Sep 28-30th Arkansas Ozarks Trail Ride

Get ready for mud fest 2007. That is if there is actually mud up here? Its raining like crazy I my experience in the Ozarks, the rain does not matter too much unless it rains enough to raise the water level in the creek crossings too much for safe crossing. If it is currently raining while trying t...

Re: Get together Sunday (9/30)?

Most are trailering, but if you got the right bike and the time, riding down would be wonderful. It's a 5 hour drive on the major hwy.

Are you doing the official "Fall Color Tour" hosted by R.L Lemke or your own ride?

Man, come down to the Ozarks with us! There will be a great KLR-style ride going on.

Re: Yamaha expands its dualsport line

I thought this thread was going to be about the 2008 660 Tenere. I think it looks like a cool dual sport. http://www.yamaha-motor-europe.com/products/motorcycles/adventure/xt660z.jsp That is a very cool bike, but it's not available here in the good ole' U.S. of A. Honda and Yamaha have made cool du...

Thanks Mike. I decided to try the internet thing again this eveing. Its real hit and miss. I have to stand on the ledge and hold my beer just right to keep a signal. I plan to be there. Sounds great! I know you'll be sure to rig it so I win something cool, Rusty

Btw, I need to stop by the store this week to pick up some gloves for my brother for the Ozarks this weekend. Maybe I'll see you there, too.

Re: MATT Trials - Trenton, MO Sept. 23-24

Did anyone make it to the competition? I really wanted to go, but Sat did not work for me. I planned to go Sun, but it was a lot hotter and muggier than I expected, and I did not cherish the though of lugging my 16 lb infant around in that heat. I did get to ride my motorcycle, though. My church, Th...

I can't remember for sure what they had....seems like behind the house there were a couple small, old charcoal grills. Can anyone confirm this?
