Re: A DR350 is an expensive water pump
You can't kill the mighty DR! Changed the oil a second time last night then took her for a drive to heat her up.(Visited my buddy kware up in Smithville--good to see ya, Kevin!) When I got back home, I drained the oil again. This time, the oil looked mostly like oil, but when I removed the dipstick,...

Re: Looking for a rugged camera
There is a company that makes "camera armor". Looks like they do a good job of shock protecting, but I don't think this would help much with dust or water.

Also, these "skins" may help:

Looking for a rugged camera
In 2 years, I've killed 2 digital cameras banging around on my bike in the dust and sometimes water. I want a camera built like my Garmin GPS--which after 18 months of hard trails, wrecks, etc, doesn't even have a scratch on the screen. That thing is amazing tough. I see that Pentax and Olympus have...

A DR350 is an expensive water pump
So I decided to help fatburg break in his DRZ today. It was POURING rain, but we said, "what the heck". I was saddened to find that much of the good, twisty gravel I like to ride up north has been freshly asphalted. "Progress" I suppose. We were on the way home and at the last minute, I asked, "hey,...

Re: Spotted
In the last 2 weeks, I've started seeing a dualsport zip by my house twice a day. The guy must work nights because he heads out of the neighborhood about 9:30PM and I pass him coming home on my way to work about 7:25AM. It looks like a Honda, but it looks smaller than an XR650...not sure what that w...

Re: Clayton Oklahoma Dualsport
This looks like a pretty good ride, Brother. We need to make an effort to check it out next year. My problem is each year I think about the Clayton ride, and instead opt to ride the Ozark National Forest. I'm sure Clayton is wonderful, but I can't imagine it being better than what we ride in the Oz...

Re: Kinda Quiet Around Here!
Greg, I hope that shoulder heals up 100%. Do all the rehab exercises you are supposed to. I and some others wear the SixSixOne Pressure Suit. They also have an "SP2" model, but it is shorter and I believe offers less chest protection. I'm happy with mine. We discussed some of the upper body armor su...

Re: Sep 28-30th Arkansas Ozarks Trail Ride
For those of you familiar with Hwy 215 between Cass and Oark, we discovered this year they are widening, building new bridges, and paving the short unpaved section. I found this article about the project. I was concerned about the project destroying the beauty of that road, but it seems they are doi...

Clayton Oklahoma Dualsport
This is kind of last minute, but I wanted to let you guys know about this annual ride event if you don't already know about it. I've not yet been lucky enough to attend, but maybe 2008?! Sometimes finding information about the ride is difficult, but I did find this web page indicating the ride is Oc...

Re: GasGas Enduro 4-strokes
I was not talking about the Pampera model. Notice the photo I posted is the Enduro FSR 450. Specs include electric start and kickstarter. This is also why I mentioned that I don't think it's street-legal. (The Pampera model is.)

Re: GasGas Enduro 4-strokes
There is a plated 2005 GasGas 450fsr on AdvRider for $3900, but I believe the bike is not naturally street-legal. I was just really curious about it, and wondered if anyone local owns one.

Re: GasGas Enduro 4-strokes
14" of ground clearance is high. A lot of bikes are in the 10 to 12" range. Yeah, I realized that later....not sure what I was thinking. So there is a "local" dealer. I doubt he'd have one of these enduros laying around in stock. I'm sure it's an order it if you want it thing. At least he could tel...

GasGas Enduro 4-strokes
Anybody know much about these bikes? Check out the "Enduro FSR" 450 and 515 models. http://www.gasgasmotos.es/eng/frame.htm About 260 lbs, seat height 37", ground clearance only 14.5". Don't a lot of other bikes have around 17" of ground clearance? It appears to be fuel-injected. I think that's a go...

Well it's official, I'm now part of the DS world. Picked up a new toy last Sunday. Woohoo, let the games begin. Yup! I test rode it, and it's a sweet DRZ. (fatburg is my neighbor. I'm trying to convince his wife that I had nothing to do with his decision to dualsport! ) Time to hit some back...

Re: Sep 28-30th Arkansas Ozarks Trail Ride
I just added 34 more photos to my ride gallery! I re-worked the photos I previously uploaded--cropped, enhanced lighting, color correction, etc. Click to view photos! OK..who has photos of Daryl in the mud hole? Please post them or email them to me. That is probably the worst mud hole I've ever seen...
