For those not riding the Hillbilly Dualsport this weekend, some riders are meeting at the Lake Perry ORV area at 2PM this Saturday, March 29.
Perry Lake ORV is closed when it is too muddy. They post the daily OPEN/CLOSE status here (Thanks, Stu):

Thanks, Devro. You camping on site at the lodge or elsewhere? I and some others are considering camping at the lodge property--they have nightly camping fees and RV hookups. We have more people than beds, so looking for ways to alleviate the pressure a little.

Re: April 3-6, 2008: April Fool's Ride in Arkansas!
Those of you who are jumping in with payment at the very end need to understand and be OK with the fact that for $170, you may be sleeping on a couch, or your own air-mattress or cot. We now have 35 people wanting beds, and we may only have 32 beds plus some couches. The lodge charges me the same pe...

Re: April 3-6, 2008: April Fool's Ride in Arkansas!
After looking at the forecast and realizing there is a possibility we could get rained on a little, I have decided to cancel the trip. I don't want to get my new Husky muddy. I'll be sending refund checks soon. Just kidding of course. RIDE ON! The lodging is VERY FULL. Some last minute riders ...

Re: Eureka Springs Hillbilly Dual Sport Tour, March 28-29, 2008
Unfortunately, chances of rain basically every day. Your Saturday looks good, though. Remember that the area is very rocky with a thin layer of soil over the rock. I've taken off on a ride in the rain and 30 minutes after the rain stopped, the dust was kicking up again. Even the ATV trails are doabl...

Re: New bike for Troy? DR350SE for sale?
Thanks for the reply, Kware. I agree with your comments. As for where I rode Friday, I am down in Wicita. We rode East and North towards Eldorado. We found a doozy of a min-maint road. Actually, I'd call this an abandoned road. It was about 2 miles and included a couple water crossings with evidence...

Re: 2008 Husky TE450
For those of you who "told me so". So I FINALLY took the 2008 Husky TE450 for a ride yesterday. I did about 90 miles of backroad and found a 1/4 mile loop of off-road trail to play on. It was easy ATV-type trail. First impressions? I should have spent $3000 on a good used DRZ400 and put a little mon...

Re: April 3-6, 2008: April Fool's Ride in Arkansas!
...is Brock Creek on the schedule? No. Brock Creek is not on the schedule. Sean may feel differently, but I'd suggest that people are welcome to ride what they want. We have planned routes, and Sean puts a lot of effort into the routes, but if people want to do something different, I encourage it. ...

Re: April 3-6, 2008: April Fool's Ride in Arkansas!
FYI: We lost the Sears House. I had reserved everything but the 2 tiniest options. (These 2 are also the most expensive per person.) My plan was to call the lodge just to keep things smooth and confirmed upon return from my vacation last week. HOWEVER, they called me (while I was skiing), to ask "wh...

Re: April 3-6, 2008: April Fool's Ride in Arkansas!
To that point, I suggest that anyone staying somewhere else meet us at the gas station or at a trailhead. That is probably a good idea, but may not be necessary. Let's see how many riders we end up with and how many of those riders are NOT staying at the lodge. If it's only a handful, no problem. I...

Ok I went over on points on planning my Gypsum Hills ride for Memorial weekend and now have to divide the route into smaller portions. Re: Route Building 101
I concur what safiri says. When I ride the Arkansas Ozarks, those dotted trail lines sometimes are actually trails. Sometimes they are no longer a trail, but I can see that something used to be there. However, not once has one of those dotted lines in Kansas turned out to be a real trail. Considerin...

Troy, I need to sign up two riders who don't have the opportunity to connect with RideForm via cyber space. Jeff Gaston (jgas) Chris White. Both will be arriveing on Thursday, maybe together. They are both camping but I do not know yet if they are going to camp in the forest or on Mulberry Mt. prop...

THE RIDE I've tried to provide all the important details in the first post of this thread: http://www.rideforum.ne...

WUFB ? Whats up for breakfast? Is this covered or do we all need to bring our own. Grocery stores are a ways away so I just want to be prepared. I reckon we could do a group thing pretty cheap. I could buy stuff for the group if needed, with costs split amongst those partaking. As outlined in the f...

Re: Garmin 60CX and Mapsource
I've never noticed my 60CS being off anything worth caring about. When it shows me in an intersection, I'm in the intersection. When I geocache hunt with it, it usually puts me right on top of the hide. It has to be outside to work and even loses signal sometimes in my truck unless on the front dash...
