Re: April 3-6, 2008: April Fool's Ride in Arkansas!

Other than the injuries of course, WOW, what a fantastic trip. I would not say Russell is exactly "OK", but if OK means "going to survive and hopefully regain use of his elbow after a very long time", then he is "OK". Russell, our prayers for healing are with you. The other guy who was injured was D...

From my personal experience riding with xr-nut in mud, he's not very good at it, so we might need to help him along. He becomes very intimidated when it gets slick.

Re: April 3-6, 2008: April Fool's Ride in Arkansas!

I'm in no matter what. It's easy for devro to be in--he only has a 1.5 hour drive. I understand the Ohio boys hesitation...16 hours....but I agree with Sean, we'll be able to ride. Thursday looks to be a bit miserable for sure, but Fri looks better and Sat looks great. Sun is great, too, but do you ...

If I was not going to be riding in Arkansas, I'd be all over this. I love watching trials.

Re: April 3-6, 2008: April Fool's Ride in Arkansas!

Lodging assignments are now posted in the rider list in the first post . Everybody who paid for lodging has a bed. You do not need to bring a sleeping bag or any bedding. All of the lodging is very nice, but not all are the same. There are advantages and disadvantages of each. I tried to place peopl...

Re: April 3-6, 2008: April Fool's Ride in Arkansas!

Link to 10 day weather forecast, looks like a 50% chance or less each day. Does anyone have any idea if we will be able to do the water crossings? I don't want to be blocked off the trails. Mike, sorry to hear about the crap. Sounds like you need to ride. I spoke to the Mulberry Mountain Lodge this...

Re: SE KS Geocaching Ride

I second the Duluth products. I use a pair of the Duluth "Firehose" carpenter pants for backroad riding. They have knee pad inserts for doing carpentry work. They are not good knee protection for a motorcycle crash, but offer me more than my jeans. Tough as nails.

Re: April 3-6, 2008: April Fool's Ride in Arkansas!

Does anyone have a connector cable (between the GPS and the computer) for a Garmin V? Some how mine magically disappeared :? If not it is no big deal, I will just follow the leader. Actually, as big a group as we have, I'm hoping we can split into at least 4 rider groups. I'd like to have at least ...

Re: April 3-6, 2008: April Fool's Ride in Arkansas!

Troy, due to some family matters that I need to manage in the upcoming days/weeks I'm not going to be able to make the ride next weekend. Since you are short on beds this may help some. Take care and ride safe guys. Are you sure?! Because you are gonna miss out on some fantastic trails! Looking thr...

Katbeanz, the airbox melting is an 08 issue. Your bike looks like an 07 to me.

Some of you were asking for more specific directions to the lodge. I updated the first post with a couple Google Map links that show you exactly where the lodge is.

Re: New bike for Troy? DR350SE for sale?

I never pick nasty lines hoping you'd follow me.... Ha! At the beginning of the day, Stu led us around nice and easy--gave us a grand tour of the trails. After a long break, Stu picked up the pace, found some gnarlier trails and started taking the nastiest lines--just to see if I'd follow! I quickl...

Yup. Very happy with the TE450 now. Still wish that pipe was on the right side, but I did not melt my pants today..so it's all good! Yeah, thanks, Stu! I would have gotten lost and probably stuck in a mud hole without your expert guidance. Thanks also for riding my TE450 and giving me your glowing o...

Re: New bike for Troy? DR350SE for sale?

All you guys were right. I have come almost 100% around with my affection for the TE450. First thing that helped is that I removed the O2 (lamda) sensor from the pipe. There is a special cap the closes the circuit off and signals the EFI to go into "race mapping". It runs SO MUCH better! In fact, it...

Re: April 3-6, 2008: April Fool's Ride in Arkansas!

My crew was asking about lunch. Will these rides take us past a food stops or should we pack our own lunch? Chad Ha! Yes and Yes. Yes, we "plan" to have a lunch stop on both Friday & Saturday. However, this is definitely an adventure, and one break down or one river too deep to cross that is 20 mil...

Hello, my name is Kevin Naser, and if it's OK I would like to go riding with you all. I'm from Omaha, NE. The only name I recognize for sure on your list is Terry T., whom I ridden with many times. I've been to a couple of RL Lemke's Fall Color Tours, so it's possible I may have met some of the res...

Re: April 3-6, 2008: April Fool's Ride in Arkansas!

Well Troy, it looks like Sandy and I are the only ones coming for the whole weekend. Russell & Daryl cant come 'til Satuday morning because of school responsibilities on Friday. They are gonna stay somewhere else, I guess. So there will be only 2 of the original 5 staying at the lodge, I hope that ...
