Re: I'm leaving tomorrow for Colorado!
...96 E out of Westcliffe, 165 S, Ophir Creek Rd turns off to the right at the really sharp switchback... Oh...and if you keep heading S on Hwy 165 just past Ophir Creek Rd about 1/4 mile, you'll hit Bishop's Castle. I think you'd enjoy seeing that, Eddie. One man's stand against THE MAN. http://pi...

You only need to protect part of your head
Kudos to http://www.motorcyclecloseouts.com for hanging this poster on their helmet display. If the study was reliable, these are some scary numbers for all the people wearing partial helmets!

Re: What's a 1990 KLR650 Worth?
I realize this is a thread about where Kevin is going to sleep if he doesn't sell his Suzuki, but I wanted to change direction slightly. Hey, get your own thread--don't hijack this one. Oh yeah...this IS your thread. I got four bites on the KLR this past weekend, and the first person to come by and...

Re: The hill climb in Troy......
WAY cool! I used to love attending the hill climbs in Holt. Likewise, very family and spectator friendly. I've driven past the one near Troy, but not attended a competition there. That link was no good, but I did find a hill climb related forum at: http://forums.kingofthehill.org/index.php If anyone...

Re: What's a 1990 KLR650 Worth?
Riding on the back of the Harley with me should make anyone want to get their own. Kevin, I often daydream of riding on the back of your Harley, the powerful motor vibrating between my legs. Just a couple of guys and the open road, the wind in our hair, and my arms wrapped tightly around you. Ahh.....

Re: NOT: Cassoday Sunday September 6th
UPDATE: Realized this is a 3 day weekend. Both the new riders indicate they'll not be able to make this day. I may do a weekend trip with the wife and 2 yr old instead. So Cassoday on the 6th is most likely off for me. Wow Troy you can get your wife and daughter on the V-Strom with you at the same ...

Re: What's a 1990 KLR650 Worth?
I know the story. I maybe selling my DRZ400S, because the Boss, has decided she is interested in riding her own street bike. So trying to decide if it will have to go to get her a starter bike. I guess it was always a risk that this day would come--Kware is going to be a Harley-only guy. It was nic...

...I asked if it would be a problem that I lived in KS and had a KS license. The guy said no problem. He only briefly looked at my paperwork, FILLED OUT MY TITLE APPLICATION for me, handed me my plate, and I handed him $260. No hassel, no problems, just smiles. WOW! I'd think it would be a no go si...

If they do what they say, I'll pay $100. Seriously. Just do one off-road ride with wet feet for 6 hours and you'll understand. My last ride in the Mark Twain turned both of my boots into fish tanks both days.MacWildcat wrote:At $40 a pair they better be so great you need a cigarette afterward. Holy Bat Crap Robin!

Re: Sat Aug 8: Road ride to Nebraska?
Quick follow-up. Enjoyed the ride! The 4 Nebraska guys at breakfast were a bit surprised to see me--that's one of the goals accomplished. The ride up and down was HOT, but I definitely enjoyed it. I was pleasantly surprised at how scenic the old highways along both sides of the river are. You get 10...

Re: Sat Aug 8: Road ride to Nebraska?
Thanks for all the tips, guys! I'll definitely consider altering my suggested route to include Big Lake. Hard to tell from a map what is scenic, so thanks for that tip, Eddie! Anyone know if Indian Cave State Park is scenic enough to warrant a visit? It appears there is not any pavement to make the ...

Sat Aug 8: Road ride to Nebraska?
I am planning a boring adventure this weekend that involves about 500 miles of non-Interstate pavement, 1 night of camping, an historic river town, and an AdvRider breakfast where I hope to meet some kindred spirits. So there is a small gang up in Nebraska that meets on the 2nd Saturday of the month...
