Re: Ride report 5/02/10
Troy if you sell the Husky for a Harley, I'll never talk to you again........ What you next bike gonna be? Although I plan to keep the forum around, I'm getting out of the motorcycle thing. I just don't have time for it anymore between my scrap-booking, knitting, and belly-dancing. I ...

Re: Ride report 5/02/10
Yeah?! This is PRIME riding time and weather. My theory is that folks are too busy riding to come post about it here! 8) Really nice photos! That was a perfect day to ride. The Saturday before your ride, Kyle, Hayden, & I were on the road returning from a week-long adventure in the Moab area! It was...

Re: Tickets Being handed out in AR?
I guess I don't have a lot to contribute, and things are always changing. I've definitely received a lot of alerts about government-related attacks on off-road recreation in general and specific prohibitions in the Wolfpen Gap area. A few years ago, I asked the owner of Turner Bend store about the l...

Re: dB Snorkel
The Arrow pipe was brand new in mid 2008. Relatively speaking, I don't ride the TE450 much. Perhaps 15 to a max of 20 days per year. I don't race--so the riding is more putting on tight trails. That pipe has less than 30 days of relatively easy riding on it. Should I seriously consider that my pipe ...

"The Husky part # for the dB Killer is 8000H0827. I think it only works on the 09 and up models, the ones w/ the cat in the mid pipe. There were significant changes done to the exhaust system for the 09 models. I think it will work w/ all the Arrow performance exhausts, but I'm not sure. NOBODY run...

Re: dB Snorkel
Im wondering how in the world that doesnt interfere with the Brake Caliper on the rear. They do say it is for "2 strokes", so I guess it's not designed for my 4 stroke anyway. It's kind of a monstrous contraption....but I'm very interested in making my TE450 quieter. There are some expensive option...

This thing looks terrible, but... http://www.thedbsnorkel.com/ http://www.thedbsnorkel.com/images/addon_large.jpg How it works with "little or no effect on engine performance" to reduce 4 to 8dB. Yikes. Looks like a crappy weather weekend, Eddie. 38 and SUNNY with little wind would be enjoyable. 38 and cloudy and any wind or wet would suck. But hey! I've let you drag me into worse!

Hey Troy, if it's spammy feel free to delete, just FYI. http://fattees-printing.com/stickers.html http://fattees-printing.com/T-Shirt-Safety-Third-Grey.html I seldom wear the shirt at work, but I should. Dean, I'm not a control-freak regarding the forum. I believe you, Stu. You got the skill to do it. Anyone who can ride their motorcycle up a board into the back up their truck would probably be compatible with that trail.Stu wrote:Looks like a lot of fun to me! And somewhat like the trails we ride in Colorado.

Re: Mountain ride to help you think about summer
My palms are sweaty and my stomach is in knots....just from watching that. For the guys who rode with me in Colorado, this video makes our "Horse Ranch Trail" look like child's play. That was the scariest trail I had ever ridden, and truth was, if you fell off that single-track, you'd probably only ...

Re: 7pm Tuesdays: Moto Movies at Motorcycle Closeouts
I'm gonna try to make this one.
Anybody from down South want to carpool? My plan is to leave from my office between 6:15 and 6:30. My office is at 87th St and I-35 in Lenexa. We could meet at my parking lot or I can come pick you up if it's not terribly out of the way.

The ORV vs Environment debate
You can see all sides demonstrated in this post and the long string of comments that follow. http://www.wildlandscpr.org/blog/photo-essay-easter-jeep-safari-moab-utah The article is surrounding ORV damage in Moab. I think this comment aligns with my personal thoughts on the subject: Perhaps the prob...

Re: New standard for DS bikes?
It does seem like the major shift towards tiny 2-strokes has just started in the last 2 years. I'm a less is more kind of guys, so I like the idea of it. I like these quotes from Mark "Big Dog" Sampson's signature on AdvRider.com: Why in the heck did you buy a 250 ?? "Because they were all out of 17...

Re: New standard for DS bikes?
I'm not an expert on the Husqvarna line, but I do own a 2008 TE450 and try to follow what Husky is doing with new models. 2008 was the first year for fuel injection. I took a risk on the new design, but I got to tell you, she's been a fantastic machine. I think the best compliment I've had for the T...

Ok, Ok, I know why he couldn't pick his bike up. And in his defense I don't think he's slow. He couldn't pick his bike up because....... Are you ready for this?.......... He's a computer GEEK! Re: ATGATT: Video results of low-speed high-side
It seemed like a crazy long time before he thought to at least take the weight out of his bags. I especially liked the idea of pulling the bike up with a rope...yeah. At one point he was trying to screw an anchor into the ground to use a "winch" to pull the bike up. Did he actually have a winch with...

ATGATT: Video results of low-speed high-side
Below is a link to a YouTube video from a guy named Bill, a moto-vlogger known as "Atlas Rider". He was doing some work on his Ninja 650 and did a short test ride without gear so he could listen to the bike....and high-sided. This is his warning about riding without gear and not to assume that you c...
