Re: WHERE to ride

Thanks, guys! I've added these into the list. I think what makes sense now is for a thread dedicated to each linked from the item here. The area-specific thread would be a place to post trail descriptions, related links, route files, tips, things to know, etc.

Re: WHERE to ride

Good idea. I'll add that Tuttle Spillway is in Manhattan and not worth driving to. "Tuttle CreeK" is in Randolph and has HUGE loose boulders. Cool place to go to but be prepared that's its set up for big Jeeps. Thanks! I knew the 2 areas were separate, but have been to neither. I added "Tuttle Cree...

Re: Ride at School Creek - 11.14.10

I just found this forum, and I know this is short notice, but a couple of us from Wichita are headed to School Creek today. Probably be there around 2:00. Give me a shout if you want to meet up. - Mark 316.209.0753 Cool! Welcome to RideForum.NET! I'd love to ride, but I've been neglecting the famil...

Re: WHERE to ride

Hey troy thanks for the riding location information. I've never been to tuttle and school creek. Are they worth the extra drive and how do they compare to Lake Perry? I would prefer the extra drive to ride at chadwick or mill creek rather than Perry or fingers. I don't really care for it, but there...

WHERE to ride off-road

This is an attempt to list all the places to ride that are relatively local to Kansas City. Unfortunately, there aint' a lot of riding areas close by, so "relatively local" is about a 6 hour circle from Kansas City. This is a list in progress. If you know if places not on this list, post up! To disc...

New helmet

My old HJC is over 5 years old and has eaten a thousand pounds of dust on gravel road rides. The face shield is scratched to heck and the hinges won't hold the shield open one notch in hot weather anymore. I've even got the plastic covers on the top vents breaking off. Time for a new helmet! I have ...

Re: Winter Ride to view Bald Eagles

I know how to get folks to sign up.... :D

I guess only the REAL riders--the TOUGH GUYS--go on rides like this in the winter. REAL riders don't post topics like "What do you guys do to winterize your motorcycles?" Winterize?! I put on warmer clothes and ride. 8)

Re: Winter Ride to view Bald Eagles

I know one thing that is preventing folks from signing up -- lack of a suitable motorcycle. "Dualsport" motorcycles are not the same as "Adventure" motorcycles. In my mind, your GS1200 Adventure and my Vstrom 650 are "Adventure" motorcycles. These are comfortable machines to ride 75 MPH pavement all...

Fellow ADVers need place to stay this Thur Nov 4

I was contacted this evening by Efrain and Ileana who are on an amazing moto journey to help Latin American street children. http://www.motonomadas.com/index.html They will hit Kansas City this Thursday, and need a place to stay for a night. They have air mattresses so just need some floor space. I ...

Private Riding Park in NW Arkansas

While solo riding in the Ozark Forest last weekend, I met a guy at the Combs cafe who told me about a new off-road riding park near Rogers, Arkansas. He highly recommended it.

Chris! Long time....glad to hear you are getting the trials bike out and hitting Chadwick again. :) I really want to get a trials bike. I can't usually get time during the week, but I definitely agree with you about Chadwick. I won't go there on the weekend. I'll just drive another 90 minutes to the...
