Re: Winter Ride to view Bald Eagles

PLEASE continue 2012 ride discussion here: http://www.rideforum.net/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=1365 Eddie, I created the new thread because I felt this 2012 ride planning was buried too deep in an old thread. Newcomers would be hard-pressed to find out about it. As details change, I'll update the 1st post ...

Jan 13-16, 2012: Winter Bald Eagle Ride

2012 Winter Bald Eagle Ride Dates are tentative depending on the weather Martin Luther King Weekend January 13-16, 2012 Eddie (ajayhawkfan) is our ride leader on this rather stupid ride idea. I mean, WHO wants to ride multiple days in freezing weather?! I joined Eddie for the 2010 and 2011 rides, a...

I'm in. Odds are it will be too cold and miserable anyway, so I'm in!

Re: What GPS to purchase??

I have a Colorado. It has some very nice features but would not buy it again and I'm guessing that is thought of many because it has already been discontinued. The major problem is the engineering around the power plug. It is easy to break the connection in the body. I have had to sent it back 3 ti...

Re: What GPS to purchase??

They have been discontinued so finding one may be a little harder now. Again, it is IN STOCK at Amazon.com , so not difficult to find at all. Search for some of "MoRidin's" posts on KTMTalk MoRidin is our riding buddy from the St. Louis area and a member here on RideForum.NET . I can't believe how ...

Re: Midwest Extreme Park, Merwin, MO

I visited Merwin, MO today and rode for an hour or so on the trails. I have to say, I'm excited to find this place. It's been in business for many years, but somehow I never heard of it. It's primarily a motocross track, but they have a few miles of trails, too. The motocross track looked like a rea...

Re: Chadwick Fall 2011 Photos

I think I know that guy in the posted picture :!: He is an AMAZING rider :!:  I heard he learned everything from his brother. Ha! Actually, Kyle was riding really well at Chadwick--impressed me several times. In that photo, he looks like a trials rider, which you kind of have to be at Chad...

Re: Chadwick Fall 2011 Photos

We did see a guy riding his relatively new KLR 650 on the trails. He is either stupid or very skilled. He had his dirtbike riding buddies help him lift the thing over the larger obstacles.

Chadwick Fall 2011 Photos

11 of us did a ride at Chadwick this past weekend. Perfect weather, ROUGH trails, campfires, and moto movies on a 10' screen! I have several broken parts on my bike that need replacing--Chadwick eats motorcycles! See the photos here: https://picasaweb.google.com/wolf.troy/Chadwick_Fall2011?authuser=...

...just because I watch y'all do it, doesn't mean that I should follow. ESPECIALLY true when attempting to follow Stu! FAST and smooth! I had to cry uncle. :D It would be nice to have trails as close as Barry road, but I don't want to be part of the problem. I think that trespassing and rid...

Re: Trails off of Barry Road?

I think the chance of being busted on those trails is very high. They are definitely off-limits. Was a legal motorized use area over a decade ago. The county has attempted plans to turn the area into a park with mountain bike trails, etc. a few times. It continues to sit and rot. There is an old roc...

Re: Winter Ride to view Bald Eagles

WARNING! There are a few risk factors when following Eddie on a ride in 30 degree weather. For example, the following could occur--hypothetically speaking of course. Stuck in a lame Missouri town waiting for ice to melt off the road Fog so thick you can't see Eddie's taillight despite wiping your vi...
