Re: March 10 & 11, 2012 Weekend Ride?

I'll ride the husky to Marquette, if it's more gravel than pavement. 2 days would make that easier. I'd take the GS if I can find some knobbier tires between now and then. Not sure I can get it through something like that crossing we did with the missing bridge on the way back from white cloud. The...

Re: March 10 & 11, 2012 Weekend Ride?

Are you thinking of leaving Saturday morning despite the chosen route? Which direction is most likely? When you say "trail ride" where are you thinking? I am interested, but I need to check on some other plans. If I go, I would prefer to camp. I have a ton of rides planned this year and the cheaper...

Re: Dualsportmaps.com

Foster, your profile says "Leavenworth". I had been assuming you were "Foster" that lives up N of the Liberty, MO area, but I now realize his username is "f-five" for Foster 5...3 kids + wife makes 5 or something like that. I helped my brother, KC, buy a KTM 400 from him. So we haven't met have we? ...

Re: Dualsportmaps.com

Foster, that was me posting up some KC-local tracks. Katbeanz, I totally agree--the MVUMs are basically unusable as they come from the USFS. You can't make heads or tails out of them. Dualsportmaps.com allows you to just select to show the MVUM overlayed on the Google map. VERY NICE! You can create ...

Yes it should! Wind gusts in the forecast, but we can hang. I'm eating a big breakfast at Bob Evans right now. I got to fuel up!

Camping in Sedalia, MO late July?! Yikes. Sounds like a better time to hit the mountains or head North!

Re: Police Motorcycle Training Class 2012

Thanks to Eddie, I've participated in this training twice now. It is very good and helped me understand a lot more about what is possible on a motorcycle. I'm definitely a better rider today because of it.

Great BBQ last year, too. I HIGHLY recommend this training opportunity.

Re: historic Ferrari's on the road, selling Shell gasoline

In the movie, Dilemma starring Kevin James and Vince Vaughn , the two portray a couple of guys with a startup company pitching their engine sound generation technology to the big car makers for use in their electric muscle cars. The movie is terrible--boring, terrible acting, rarely funny. [youtube...

And that is going to be the primary downside to the electric car...missing that sound! Love it!

Re: Jan. 28 (Sat.) Ride at Big Springs

First of all, Dave Hodges?! WHERE has that guy been?! I miss having him on our Arkansas rides. It would be cool to see him. I can't do 1:00 Sat, Jan 28. I have a 4PM commitment this Sat, which means I'd need to be home by 3:00 to cleanup. Bender's is about an hour away for me so I'd have to be loade...

I'm pretty sure it's a DR350. He said 2-stroke to throw us off the trail. Serious enthusiasts understand the DR350 was and is one of the baddest motorcycles ever created. Guys who own them (or ever did) are worthy of the highest respect. https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-bKIOLPSXU84/TvHTDcSBi7I/AAA...

Re: I'm either a genius, or, just behind the curve

EXCELLENT IDEA! I've used the delicate process of wedging a flat-head screw-driver under the nut with one hand while putting the bolt in with the other hand. It's a frustrating balancing act. Silicone rubber is perfect. Will hold up to the heat, holds the nut perfectly for starting the bolt, and as ...

Eddie, I somehow doubt you are the demographic being targeted by the Nuclear Cowboyz.

I'm just blown away by the stunts. I can do without the music, lasers, dancing, and pyrotechnics.
