Re: Local fab shop

Nice! I was just thinking about this exact dilemma the other day for my F150. If you don't mind me asking, what did that set you back? About $150. I say about because he said, "shouldn't be more than $150". I asked him to also remove my old, rusted nerf bars by breaking the rusted-solid 3/4" bolts ...

Re: Sep 22, 2012: Mark Twain Dualsport

New tire is on, 15 tooth sprocket installed..I think i should be good to go. Andy, I'm loading up tonight so I can drive to work and have the option of leaving directly from my office tomorrow. I assume you want to haul out with me. I need to know when and where to pick you up. Or we can take your ...

OK, so that's where I'm at. Hopefully I'll get an update soon.

Re: Local fab shop

Here it is. This is bolted into the front-center of my truck bed. There is metal on the backside so the bolts won't pull through the tin-can truck bed. It's over-engineered a bit, but I get the feeling Kelly doesn't make anything wimpy. https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-S_yPesVHCEE/UFtmBoPLzqI/AAAA...

Re: Google Maps on Android...

I had not noticed. I just played with the feature a little. It fails on my Verizon Thunderbolt with 11MB of selected area. Successfully Q'd for download when I only selected 2MB of area. Hmmm... Thanks for the post!

Local fab shop

For several years I've been hauling 2 motorcycles in my truck without a good way to tie the inside forks down. My truck has nice tie-down points in the 4 corners. I've ended up running each bike's inside fork through the front wheel spokes of the other bike to get to the corner tie-down. Of course y...

Re: October 26-28: Off-Road at Disney, OK

Doh, so my banner design will not work. A guy created that image for me a few months ago, and I thought I'd be lazy and just use it...but the resolution is too low for a large banner. SO...here's what the banner will look like hanging in the campground! https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-FLx5kmy61qI...

...I've been reading this thread I've been entertaining the idea of just riding out one morning/afternoon and meeting everyone for a quick breakfast/dinner. YEAH! Camp cook! (For those that don't know, jasoomian was a top-notch chef in a former life.) Scottie, I'm excited to hear the menu plan! Tha...

Re: Sep 22, 2012: Mark Twain Dualsport

Is this ride more of a 14, 15, or 16 tooth sprocket kind of trip? Link is building the route, so I'm not authoritative on this subject. However, he has told me it will be an "easy" route. I recommend the 15 tooth sprocket. Of course there might be some paved stretches you'd prefer the 16 on, overal...

Re: October 26-28: Off-Road at Disney, OK

Maybe I can make up a RideForum.NET flag or banner to hang--that would be kick-ass. DONE! I ordered a 2' x 10' banner that will look like this: https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-ZeugsrV8rnU/UFixiXVRZVI/AAAAAAAAAgE/ssFPg3G53Bo/s800/rideforum_banner.jpg So look for that hanging in the trees at the c...

Re: October 26-28: Off-Road at Disney, OK

Like I said, my opinion seems to go against current, popular opinion. I've run a trials tire at Chadwick. I prefer the knobby. Either way you'll have a blast. It is kind of funny, though, trail motorcycles used to run trial-style tires back in the 70's. Somewhere along the line, the motocross-style ...

Re: October 26-28: Off-Road at Disney, OK

Should I bring my trials tire for the rock section? Or would it be best to run knobbies since the rest of the place sounds like knobby terrain? Ask safiri about trials tires! He and I rode some slightly muddy, leaf-covered woods trails on Sunday. His trials tires SUCKED. My opinion comes down to th...

Disney it is! I'm assuming that we'll be camping at the campground you mentioned. If so, I'll plan on bringing my camper. Looking forward to the details. I'm not a Disney expert, but I did stay in a Holiday Inn Express last night . OK, s...

Man, I would love to go to disney! But Oct. is my every weekend cater month! Grrr! All I can squeeze in is day trips! Ugh :( At only 2.5 hours from El Dorado Springs, MO, Disney, OK qualifies as a day trip if you want it to. The ride is scheduled for Fri, Sat, & Sun, but a guy could come down for a...

Re: GPS Help

A few things I've noticed... 1. I was working in Basecamp and my Android phone was low on battery so I plugged in the USB cable. Basecamp saw the USB drive and scanned it. After quite some time, the photos stored on my phone popped up on my map in roughly the correct locations where I took the photo...

Re: Sep 22, 2012: Mark Twain Dualsport

The ride is this coming Saturday--just 5 days away. Am I driving across Missouri by myself?! I can make this REALLY easy for somebody. If you have a dualsport motorcycle, and can get away from family and work this weekend (5 pm Fri to about 7pm Sun), and can come up with about $100 to spend,...
