I could not help myself. I'm a weak man.

He just had to do it. I can't really blame him I suppose--he couldn't have known my issues. He posted his 2012 KTM 350 EXC-F for sale on Craigslist for a great price that I just couldn't pass up. This is the fuel-injected 4 stroke that claims to produce 450 power with 250 weight and handling. Many r...

New product? I've not seen this before anyway. It's a balaclava that solves the issue of discomfort related to having the mask covering your mouth and/or nose. http://cozywinters.com/shop/coldavenger-balaclava.html Protect yourself from the harsh and damaging effects of cold exposure with our ColdAv...

Re: Dirtbikes & Soldiers (formerly "Random Thought")

End of year update: I received a nice reply from a military office regarding this idea and was told the appropriate departments were being contacted for me. I'm waiting on follow-up.

Re: Get your car detailed

Had Joe detail our kid-trashed Honda Odyssey minivan. OH MY GOSH! It looks about brand new! Better than when we bought it used 2 years ago where the dealer "detailed" it. No more stains in the carpets. :)

Re: Xmas break motorcycle field trip

If you can fit it in, go to Letko and do a short demo ride on a Zero electric motorcycle. It's a unique experience that I enjoyed a lot.

Re: Xmas break motorcycle field trip

Sounds like fun, although I want a full report when you return including how many of the sales guys didn't want to give you the time of day. I don't know if it's reverse psychology or what, but I think I could be holding $20K in cash and they would still treat me bad. Shawnee Cylce Plaza is in your ...

Re: Husqvarna TR650

Who sells Huskys in the KC area? Engles? I wouldn't mind taking a look at one as the wife is wanting a dual sport bike. The bigdog dude on Advrider like the Husky enough to sell his KLR and 950 KTM. Jim According to Husqvarna, nobody sells in the KC metro. Letko did a few years ago, but no longer. ...

Re: Husqvarna TR650

Thanks, Bob! I was just looking for that post to link it here. You beat me to the punch. :) I think the DRZ400 and the TR650 would be too close in the niche they fill. The TR650 might stretch her legs a little easier on longer roads, but I'm not sure about that. If you got the money and storage spac...

Re: Brock Creeck Arkansas

Some of you guys know I like the gnarly trails, but I have to say that looks a bit ludicrous. That is a feet down, clutch slipping, fight. I've seen video from other sections of this same trail that are very steep with huge rock ledges to get over. It's definitely for the hard-core. Not sure I want ...

Re: Honda CRF 450x

Hmmm...Kendall, you might have a real winner here! Apply the Timeshare Model to motorcycles. Brand new KTM 350 is approximately $10,000. 10 people each put in $1,200 to buy it (The extra $2K is my fee to handle the purchase and manage the contracts of course.) $150/year general maintenance/storage f...

Re: Looking for a bolt

Member iyeager (Ian) helped me with some specific bolts I needed for my old DR350 a few years back. I've not heard from him in a long while, but I've reached out to see if he can help you, Jim.

Hmmm...email bounced...further research shows he may have moved to CA earlier this year.

Re: Honda CRF 450x

I don't bleed orange, I just want a high quality, high performance, street-legal dirtbike. The most difficult part of that is street-legal. The list of high-performance dirtbikes that are street-legal from the factory is a small list. Sure, some folks have had luck getting other bikes plated, but I ...

Re: New Tires Coming My Way!

Troy, When I buy tires from Engles they knock off about 25% and then charge about that to mount them. That works out to getting tires are about online price. I'm happy with that. But they wanted $75 a wheel to mount and balance my tires. Granted I did not talk to Mike or Adam because both were out ...

Re: New Tires Coming My Way!

Normally I get tires at Engles and have them mount and balance. It is too expensive for them to do these because I did not buy from them. Where else around here can I get them done? #1 WTF? How much money have you spent at Engle's?! How many customers have you sent to them?! It's not like you went ...

Re: New Tires Coming My Way!

Who better than the GS GIANT to review tires?! The Kenda Big Block would have been great for that course. I loved these tires on my F800GS but the rear wore out VERY quickly. Since they are so low cost, though, the dollar per mile compari...
