Don, only thing I can tell you is strap it down as tight as you can in any way you can. Ensure the bag and straps won't touch the exhaust. Make sure straps can't get loose and get into the wheel or chain.

Ride is next week. With today's weather, though, makes me wish we were heading out today.

I was out yesterday (Tue.) in Platte County and the gravel roads were not fun! Ice, mud, and ruts which made my DR seem even heavier. Snow drifts also covered half of the road in places.
