Re: Point and Shoot Camera

A really old thread with some relevance http://www.rideforum.net/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=481 I now carry this and enjoy the nice video it takes for the water crossings, etc. http://www.rideforum.net/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=1622 Since I do a lot of true off-road riding I have to consider a camera that can ta...

Re: 3/29 & 30: Freeman Off-Road Resort Spring Adventure Ride

If anyone ever goes to Link's on a single track ride I would be interested in that. I have been wanting to get down there for years. Jim Link is leading some guys on a single-track ride this Sat actually. I bet you could tag along, but you'd need to ask. The "Adventure Ride" event is a self-guided ...

Re: April TARKC meeting?

Does there exist anymore a cool coffee house with lots of comfortable seating that also serves sandwiches or soup? Oh, and also does not mind 10+ folks hanging out for a couple of hours.

The sports bar & grill during MM seems unwise...but then again, I don't know much about these things.

Re: Top Box Mounting ?

Agree with Savage. Use thinner wood and make it just barley larger than where it is actually supporting the box. Hinges DEFINITELY go to the the front so that you stand behind the bike when opening and packing the box. More importantly, if you forget to latch it, the wind can't catch it, throw it op...

Re: 3/29 & 30: Freeman Off-Road Resort Spring Adventure Ride

Why did Link schedule the ride over Easter weekend? Yes, it's not the best weekend for a ride event, and I tried to convince Link to do it another weekend. However, Link did not want to compete with other ride events--the WUDI and another big dualsport ride (that I don't know about) is the followin...

Re: Water Softeners/Conditioners

Mike, thanks for the detailed reply. (Well written and had me laughing!) Yeah, I've been reading all about the science and the various arguments. I did come to the conclusion that the under-sink RO systems are sold primarily because of the need to remove the sodium added by the water softener...but ...

Re: Water Softeners/Conditioners

I have one of those salt water softeners (a large one) that I will give you. All you have to do is come over and pick it up. I have no idea if it works or not, it hasn't been touched since I bought the house 18 months ago. Daryl, here are the possible reasons I assume for why you don't want it: Alr...

Water Softeners/Conditioners

So way off the 2 wheel topic, but do any of you have a water softener or conditioner or reverse osmosis (RO) system in your home? WaterOne water in JoCo runs 7 to 9 grains hardness, and that's hard enough to make my lovely wife complain about what the water does to her hair & skin. My 5 year old dau...

In this post : Another riding area, although the bikes have to be plated, is the 4WD roads off the Glade Top Trail in Southern Missouri. Easy to spend a couple days there and not cover all the trails. Except for these two weeks of hunting season, there isn't anybody there. http://www.ozarkmtns.com/f...

THANKS for this detailed report, Randy! FYI: I created a dedicated "Mack's Pines" page for anyone looki...
