Re: May 2-4: TAR Spring Ride

Folks, it looks like the Lodge is FULL! That did not take long. Inevitably somebody on that list will back out, and I KNOW we'll have a few more that end up coming. The Lodge does have a ton of space that would allow air mattresses, but last I checked, they will charge us $40/head regardless of whet...

RE: http://advrider.com/forums/showpost.php?p=17867981&postcount=37 Eddie, you might have to change your AdvRider subtitle/tagline to "SOB on a BMW". Your first post in that thread did remind me of a potential conflict for my attendance in the ride. My cat is getting old. She could go any day now. I...

:) yes you have free BBQ for this!
Just call when convenient for you, and I'll do my best to make that time work. We'll need 5 to 20 minutes depending on thickness of your skull.

Movie: Mud (dirtbikes in Arkansas)

On a friend's recommendation, I rented Mud out of the local RedBox . http://fortheloveoffilm.org/wp-content/themes/gumball-special/post-images/mud-poster.jpg It's a slow-going movie, and some folks complain about that, but Jodi & I like those kind of movies. It's a cool story. For this audience, it'...

Re: May 2-4: TAR Spring Ride

When posting "IN" please also indicate if you want a bed in the lodge or plan to manage your own lodging. Picky picky :) I would stay at the lodge. If this doesn't require a plated bike, my son would likely go as well. No "official" routes have been created and likely won't for some time since the ...

When posting "IN" please also indicate if you want a bed in the lodge or plan to manage your own lodging. They have several smaller cabin options but none of them will save you money. You could save money by camping in the excellent campground, though.

Re: May 2-4: TAR Spring Ride

Kendall, REALLY hope you 2 make it in your home on wheels! The campground is very nice, and I would not expect them to run out of RV spots, BUT, call them to make sure and reserve if necessary. (479) 667-1919 Rick, (& Kim), hope you "locals" make it UP for the ride, too! I took the liberty of updati...

I rode a week of singletrack in CO this summer and 4 guys were running GoPros. We found that the chest mount is the best. There is a kit you can buy or I suppose rig something yourself.

Re: TAR Spring ride

If we get 10+ folks, we should rent their luxury "Mulberry Mountain Lodge". It is awesome. It actually sleeps 13 (more with couples). Also, if we have 10+, I can probably have Backwoods BBQ cater a dinner for us. At 10, it's about $55/night/person and gets cheaper with more people. I've stayed in th...

What kind of ride is this? http://www.jebruns.com/Wudi16/wudi16.html Traditionally it is what I'd call a relatively hard-core trail ride with a lot of singletrack. Basically they have guys lead riders on the harescramble track from the prior weekend and some other gems. I know the one year I attend...

Is that Manhattan today? If so, you've got some great snow! We are getting a dusting up to an inch right now in Overland Park.

I can't think of a better bike if your goal is super low-cost long-range dualsport. Sweet deal!
